- [New American Farmhouse](https://rockpileconstruction.com/projects/new-american-farmhouse/): If you like an open floor plan and high ceilings, we’ve got you covered. With as much windows as walls, construction had to be careful and robust so that the windows wouldn’t introduce excess heat or cold. The black marble behind the bar is a real standout. There are new owners of the house now and we’ve been back to update and customize to their tastes. The fireplace has a new look, there is more storage in the house, and the pool is now heated.
- [Country Estate](https://rockpileconstruction.com/projects/country-estate/): What can we say? We poured our hearts into this home - and it shows, inside and out. The property was not just a construction site. It was also a workshop for custom woodworking, metal work, stone cutting, and much more. Full custom was the theme with artistic decisions being adjusted throughout the build. The greenhouse is certainly a highlight, but the pool and poolhouse are the real showpiece. We certainly lived up to the Rockpile motto on this project: “Built to Last”.
- [Artist’s Studio](https://rockpileconstruction.com/projects/artists-studio/): This simple and elegant artist’s studio features a room with a twelve foot vaulted ceiling showcasing locally-sourced antique beams. The client provided the old iron railing for the loft, the unique electrical and plumbing fixtures, and the reclaimed paneled doors and countertops. When it came time to trim the interior, we offered an upgrade and donated several hundred feet of custom trim salvaged from other projects, adding even more character to this eclectic space.
- [Classic Kitchen and Sunroom](https://rockpileconstruction.com/projects/classic-kitchen-and-sunroom/): So many homeowners in Charlottesville have faced the issue of renovating or moving further out. It's tough to leave a great intown location after 15 years so our clients decided on a major kitchen renovation, a sunroom, and a backyard makeover. We have since returned to build an attached ipe deck with a built-in hot tub. We're looking forward to the next project on this keeper home.

- [Belmont Remodel](https://rockpileconstruction.com/projects/belmont-remodel/): A quaint Cape Cod home in the Belmont neighborhood of Charlottesville was a tight squeeze for a growing family. We extensively remodeled the home and added a much-needed This project included a square foot addition. The addition included a new entry and mudroom off of the carport, a gourmet kitchen overlooking a spacious family room, and master bedroom and bathroom.

Among other improvements, the kitchen was relocated, the fireplace and chimney were dismantled and rebuilt, and an exterior wall was opened up with multiple French doors to overlook the new stone terrace.

Originally slated to be a major renovation and addition to an existing farmhouse, our client decided instead to dismantle the structure and build all new. The end result is a beautiful 10,000 square-foot home that sits on the crest of a hill and overlooks the James River. 
- [Downtown Condo](https://rockpileconstruction.com/projects/a-downtown-condo/): This was the first of five condominium renovations in the Lewis and Clark building in downtown Charlottesville. The layout had remained relatively unchanged for decades. Our client, who had a design background and a bold vision for the space, wished to remodel the kitchen and completely reconfigure the layout of the rooms.
- [Rustic Luxury Barnhouse](https://rockpileconstruction.com/projects/rustic-luxury-barnhouse/): For this barn remodel, Rockpile converted a an 1839 barn into a beautiful country home. The original structure was taken down in a neighboring county and moved 20 miles to our site.
- [Horse Barn Expansion](https://rockpileconstruction.com/projects/horse-barn-expansion/): This addition to an oak post-and-beam barn added 8 stalls and a tenant apartment. Timbersmiths Inc. provided the oak post-and-beam frame. With cypress siding and a copper roof on the exterior and pine paneling and stable fronts from Lucas Equine, the addition is a seamless fit to the original barn. Following the barn restoration, Rockpile also built an outdoor fireplace and patio, stone retaining walls, and a pair of automatic entry gates.
